2. San Francisco - 1991

In the area of Northern California where I grew up, there were no strip clubs.

The closest thing to such a show was the one time a traveling group called the

California Hardbodies appeared at a local club/bar for one night only. The

girls danced around the audience for tips, keeping on their bikinis and such.

There was no lap dancing-no grinding or anything close to it. The best to hope

for was a to have the girl wave her tits in ones face. There was one girl among

the dancers who later became a porn star-Summer Cummings. After the girls

danced around for a while, they put on an oil wrestling show. Guys bid to be

able to squirt the oil on them from several feet away. One guy bid $100 and the

girl broke the rules and hugged him while topless. I wasn't aware of the rules

for nude dancing and alcohol, but now it seems that the girls were at least 6

feet away from the guys while topless.

Again, I was very surprised when the girls took off their tops in plain view.

This was a much better show than the one in Hollywood the year before, but the

show never came back, and I was making plans to move away.

The San Francisco Chronicle was widely read in the area, about 300 miles from

the Bay Area. The strip clubs there advertised regularly in one section of the

paper. Generally, the ads trumpeted the appearance of a porn star-usually the

big-breasted type. I had quite often looked longingly at the ads, dreaming of

going to see them in person. And when I saw that Teri Weigel would be appearing

at the New Century Theatre, I decided it was time.

I talked my brother into going and we drove down together. We knew the

admission was lower earlier in the day and decided to leave early in the

morning to get down there in time for the first show of the day. We got there a

few minutes late, but got the discount anyway. We looked around for a while and

waited for Teri Weigel to come on. I was intrigued to see the girls mingling in

the audience, asking if I wanted some "company." I suppose they weren't

supposed to say "lapdance." Since I was shy and wasn't sure what "company"

entailed, I repeatedly declined. I did eventually take up one young lady on her

invitation to go to a back room where she assured me I could get as close a

look at her while naked as I like-albeit with a flashlight in an otherwise dark

room. No touching of interesting bits was permitted.

The best part of the visit was after Teri Weigel danced. I waited in line for a

chance to meet her. I didn't have enough dough to get a private dance, but she

did talk to me for about 10 minutes, during which time she was completely

naked. And the funny thing is that we had a pretty normal conversation. She was

very nice and gave me a naked hug before I left.

The next time I was in the Bay Area visiting another brother, we went to the

Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theater. I don't recall if there was any feature. I

didn't feel comfortable getting a lap dance in front of my brothers, so I just

enjoyed the show. We all chipped in to pay for a girl to put on a dildo show on

top of our table. I realized that in order to have a good time there, one had

to have a pretty good supply of cash and a desire to spend it.

I did learn to control my shyness and actually look the girls in the eye when

they were onstage in front of me playing with their pussies. It was a pretty

good thing to learn.
